A ladybug, really? Yeah, that's a bit what we thought too. But then, think about some of the best classic trout flies: they have something in common: red and peacock herl. A Deer Hair Caddis with peacock herl body and a splash of red can be killer in low-light conditions. So we thought, what the heck, let's give this little lady a try, and we were surprised. We think you will be too!
We are excited to bring these ultra-realistic flies made from entirely synthetic materials to you. Before you freak out and call them an abomination to fly fishing (as was our initial reaction), give it a little thought. You can still cast tried and true tied patterns, and we think they craftier they are, the better. BUT, maybe it's time for something new? Rod and line technology has advanced, so maybe it's time to add a little evolution to your flybox too.
Since these are a new product we're offering an insane option: buy them, but if you (a) just totally hate them, or (b) they don't work, or (c) they fall apart (so long it's not in the jaws of something monstrous), let us know and we'll swap out for a replacement, trade you up to similar value of crafted flies, or just give you your money back.
Just think of it like catch and release flies, although from our testing on the water, these bugs are keepers.
